Moldova: Grigorauca Vocational Education School and Rural Development


The aim of this project is to reduce poverty in 5 Rayons of the Central Region of Moldova through Rural Development and Job creation.


During the first phase of the project “VET Centre Grigorauca”, the whole project may be considered as successful and sustainable, because it succeeded in improving the quality of life and reducing the poverty of children and youth living in the Moldovan regions where the project is implemented: Singerei, Telenesti, Orhei, Rezina, Soldanesti.

Following concrete results have been achieved so far:

  • Education and training of children/youth (Grigorauca VET School set up, 5 course programs elaborated, 47 students participated in the education program); additional short-term training for individual entrepreneurs (18 person participated in the education program)

  • Quality of living premises for youth improved / unemployment rate in the region decreased – 47 children enrolled in the current year of studies, provided with study opportunities, and at least 8 students integrated already into the labour market of Sîngerei and neighbour districts)

  • The additional infrastructure in Grigorauca village will be renovated; the dormitory will permit to involve students from all communities of Singerei rayon

  • Further Education of pedagogues of the partner institutions completed – a seminar “Development of Occupational Profiles”

  • Becoming a Rayonal Training Institution as result of Educational Licence obtaining

  • Network of producers by sector (an Agriculture Cooperative, craft producers and tourism providers are supported)

  • An Advice Centre for SMEs, Entrepreneurs and VET students/graduates has been established

  • Small Grant Program (49 applications have been registered; 18 mini-projects have been selected for financing; 64 work places will be created)
